Held in November 10th 2006, in Gedung Joang 45 Jakarta - Indonesia, this outdoor theatrical show represents the long struggled of Indonesian heroes ( = pahlawan ), to escape from tyrant. It was a single artist theatrical show, and I used mud as a symbol of the struggle, the pains and anger. As I walked down to the street, I brought the torch with me and the show was very much caught by people that crossed along the street. In the end, I entered my self to the clay made bucket “gentong” which symbolized how much we are now, the Indonesian still limited by another form of tyrants, another policies which strike this democratic era.
Sony Tulung and Rieke Diah Pitaloka are well famous Indonesian artist who had involved to establish this theatrical show. Rieke was presenting a poem to commemorate “Hari Pahlawan”, when the audience stood up in silence and pure contemplation, it was shown how deep the struggle of our Indonesian heroes have been living in our spirit and soul.
